  511.      This Annex is an integral part of this Recommendation. It specifies  details  on
  512. operational structures currently not covered by Recommendation T.441. It is intended that 
  513. future work on operational structures will be compatible with the specifications of this 
  514. annex.

  516. A.1  Constituents of the operational structure
  517.      The operational structure is used (in addition to  the  specific  document)  for
  518. describing application defined structures in terms of operational objects and operational 
  519. elements. The following constituents occur in this structure:
  520.      -    operational root;
  521.      -    composite operational object;
  522.      -    basic operational object;
  523.      -    operational elements.
  524.  
  525. A.1.1Operational root
  526.      The operational root is the highest level object in the hierarchy of this structure. 
  527. It is a composite object whose immediate subordinates can be any number and combination 
  528. of composite and basic operational objects.
  529. A.1.2Composite operational objects
  530.      A composite operational object is a composite object of the operational structure.
  531.      A composite operational object can be immediately subordinate to the operational 
  532. root or to another composite operational object of one hierarchy level above. (Only one 
  533. level of composite operational objects will be used by videotex interworking.)
  534.      The immediate subordinates of a composite operational object can be any number and 
  535. combination of composite and basic operational objects. Operational elements cannot be 
  536. directly associated with a composite operational object.

  538.      A basic operational object is a basic object of the operational structure.
  539.      A basic operational object can be immediately subordinate to the operational root or

  551.      Operational elements are associated with basic operational objects. They describe 
  552. application specific data, which are specified in the appropriate Recommendation of the 
  553. application.
  554. A.2  Definitions of attributes
  555.      This clause defines the attributes and their applicability  to  the  operational
  556. objects. Each attribute has a name and a value by which it describes a characteristic of 
  557. a structure element or the relationship to another structure element.

  685.      Mandatory for all operational object descriptions. For the  same  exceptions  as
  686. specified in Recommendation T.412,  5.3.1.3, the object identifier may be omitted.

  690.      The object identifier consists of a sequence of numbers. Each number in the sequence 
  691. corresponds to a hierarchical level of the specific operational structure and identifies 
  692. one specific object description at that level (see Recommendation T.412).

  695. operational root.

  709. A.2.1.3   Operational element identifier
  710.      Mandatory for all operational object descriptions. In the same exceptional cases as 
  711. specified in Recommendation T.412,  5.3.1.3, the operational element identifier may be 
  712. omitted.
  713.      This attribute uniquely identifies an operational element description.
  714.      The value of the operational element identifier consists of a sequence of numbers 
  715. which is composed of two parts. In the first part, it is identical to the identifier of 
  716. the basic operational component that the operational element is associated with.  The
  717. second part is a number appended to this identifier which identifies this operational 
  718. element.
  719.      The operational element identifier is presented as a character string of decimal- 
  720. coded numerals with a space character as separator between each pair of numerals.

  723.      Non-mandatory; may be specified for all operational object descriptions.
  724.      This attribute is not supported by this Annex, as videotex interworking makes no use

  727.      Non-mandatory for composite operational object descriptions.
  728.      This attribute identifies the set of objects immediately subordinate to a composite 
  729. operational object.
  730.      The value of the attribute is a sequence of one or  more  numbers.  Each  number
  731. corresponds to  an immediately subordinate object description and consists of the last
